Nordingrå is the fifth release from Lisa & Kroffe and the first on the Flora & Fauna label. For this recording the duo, that has their roots in Ångermanland, traveled north to the heart of the high coast area where their producer and technician Tomas Bodéns houses his studio.
”For every new recording we’ve picked a specific location under a limited time. In that way we can isolate ourselves and enter a creative bubble where we get inspired by our surroundings. By bringing newly required instruments we keep things fresh for ourselves by exploring new sounds and ways of playing. This time we brought a freathless bass, a saxophone and a Oberheim OB8 – a beast of a synth from the early eighties. The later got us to listen a lot to high end American new age such as the Windham Hill recordings which has been a big inspiration for this album.”
In addition to this, Lisa & Kroffe are sticking to their roots with references to Berlin School, such as Tangerine Dream, minimalists like Terry Reilly and Swedish folk prog from Bo Hansson.
